Commercials during football are the harbinger of ads on all Netflix content
The commercials during Netflix’s football broadcasts are a slippery slope that leads to ads at all levels of the service. Mark my words: accept ads here, and we’ll all be paying top dollar as well as watching ads in no time.

A football game is long because of all the commercials and downtime between plays. These ~15 min versions of the games are great, even if—like me—you’re not a football fan. This particular game is a good one, but I think that several of the recent ones are also good.

I found this episode of “On With Kara Swisher” to be an excellent listen. Yann LeCun, Meta’s chief AI scientist, is a fascinating guest and Swisher did a good job interviewing him. It’s definitely worth a listen if you’re at all interested in LLMs and AI.

That’s $11M too much, but I’m glad to see the correct signals getting sent.

I’ve steadfastly refused to watch any of Sony’s Spider-Man spinoffs. The only way we can get this kind of garbage to stop is to stop paying to see them. That includes watching them “for free” when they make their way to streaming services.
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for a fourth season”
Good news about _ST:SNW_. I love the show so far, and knowing that it’s locked in for two seasons is nice. I never got much into _Lower Decks_, but it seems like five seasons is a good run.
