Thoughts on Marvel
“Charlie Cox talks Daredevil: Born Again”
This interview with Charlie Cox is longer and is a more open and insightful conversation, compared to most of the press interviews I’ve seen with him. There was a particularly good section where he discussed Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 and its challenges and rewrites. I also love the idle speculation on the part of host Josh Horowitz about how cool it would be to have a Secret Wars with both Cox and Affleck reprising their respective takes on Daredevil.
Captain America: Brave New World
For serious fans of the MCU, I think Captain America: Brave New World is a downright good movie. For more casual fans, this movie is likely going to be a miss, since it draws on Marvel titles many won’t have seen or won’t remember. More at the link.
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man gets community justice right”
This article is a good take on why the show’s “wokeness” is a real strength. I continue to enjoy the show, and recommend it.
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” Debut
I watched the first two episodes of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” on Disney+, and I’m impressed.
“‘Kraven the Hunter’ Bombs With $11M Opening”
That’s $11M too much, but I’m glad to see the correct signals getting sent.
“Kraven the Hunter is the flimsiest strand in Sony’s spider-free web”
I’ve steadfastly refused to watch any of Sony’s Spider-Man spinoffs. The only way we can get this kind of garbage to stop is to stop paying to see them. That includes watching them “for free” when they make their way to streaming services.
