Joanna Stern, now on her own at New Things, has a great new video that looks into the trend of people modifying their Meta Ray-Ban glasses so that they can record without the light that normally alerts people to the fact that they’re being recorded. There’s a further trend that she reports on, called “Rizzzcamming”, where people creeps hit on others while recording the interaction, and upload the video. It’s the kind of reporting that we’ve come to expect from her at the Wall Street Journal, and I’m glad to see this kind of high-quality reporting continue at New Things.
On the topic of Meta’s glasses, I have to say that I don’t know how anyone who knows anything about Facebook could possibly allow that company to put cameras and microphones in their lives.
