Thoughts on Meta

This is an extraordinary moment, to be sure. Still, how you meet moments like this gives an indication whether your values are strongly held, or just light commitments, kept when they are easy. It doesn’t surprise me that Meta’s were the latter. Let’s see how Apple does with its commitments.

It almost goes without saying that The Odyssey will be up for Best Picture as well. That’s quite a feat for a retelling of a ~2,700 year old story, but Nolan pulled it off. Read my post for more of my thoughts.

I’m not a huge ice cream consumer, but I found myself watching this video on YouTube where professional chefs try a frankly crazy number of vanilla ice cream varieties. One of the winners, McConnell’s Vanilla Bean, is worth the price, and I recommend it.

★★★★★ This machine is a beast. The Verge is being stingy giving it an 8/10. It’s objectively the best Mac I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a lot of Macs), and there’s a strong argument that it’s the best laptop ever made, period.

It took me a long time to get through season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The bottom line is that it’s just not very good, unfortunately. I loved the earlier seasons, but this one is a let down.
