Safari and Chrome support retina images in CSS
I hope this happens quickly. Images look great on a Retina Display when they're properly rezzed and sized, which isn't typical on the web yet. Standardizing this quickly in CSS will keep the proliferation of other techniques down and get us to our hi-res future that much more quickly.
