In the here’s-another-reason-for-patent-reform department, TiVo is being sued over it’s ability to pause live TV. That’s right, a company called Pause Technologies, who apparently do nothing but make money off this patent, has a patent on using memory and disk to create a pause buffer for video and audio.
If you want to discuss government policy that needs reform and “thinking outside the box,” the patent system is a great one. ;)
