John Moltz adds another good point. This happens in my household all the time. Every time a site moves from reverse chronological listing of posts from people you follow—usually by applying an algorithm to "increase engagement" or show you things it thinks you'll like—people complain. People tried to use third-party Twitter clients (which Twitter reigned in as much as it could), and complained loudly about Facebook.
This same thing recently happened to the cyclist-focused site Strava, with the same chorus of user feedback. So far, it's been detrimental to my enjoyment of the site. :(

Compelling points. I don't post often on Facebook, mostly sharing pics of group experiences, but I do find value in the people whom I'm connected with there. I do wish a way had caught on to capture the social sharing that Facebook enables, but in a way that is more internet-friendly. Sadly, people don't really understand the distinction being made here, so they don't value openness, from the web point-of-view.

I was wary when Google purchased Nik. I thought my cynicism had been proven misplaced later on, but now realize it was on target. The Nik tools were great, and the company had been innovative while it was independent. Too bad Google got their hands on them.

I don't think every company should roll their own streaming service, especially paid ones, but this one has an interesting tidbit:

New Young Justice! That's burying the lede! The first 2 seasons were great, and I thought there was no chance of getting more. I probably will pay for this, just to see the new season.
Another streaming service, also another DC show
Woo, Sony is really hammering the old guard with this one. I wish I liked the feel of Sony cameras better, both in terms of in-hand ergonomics as well as shooting—it really feels like shooting with a computer instead of a camera. Still, they're rocking it these days, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if my next camera was a Sony. The idea of an α9 S, which I assume is what they'll call the higher-resolution-but-slower option, would be a potential winner, although I'm pretty enthused by the stats on this α9.
