The church vs. higher education ratio is mindboggling.
No spoilers, just a quick note that Ainsley and I went to see it, and it’s great. Tom Holland is great as Peter/Spidey, and Michael Keaton’s Vulture is way, way better than the Vulture deserves to be. Hell, he was better than the big name villains the other Spidey movies got!

The movie, mercifully, lacks the overcrowded feeling that sometimes descends on Marvel productions, and is all the better for it.

I found my original first impressions post, which I’d written up on another (now defunct) site I used to run. I’ve imported it here. It’s a lot of fun to read back on the threads that it generated. One of my favorites is that I barely considered the original “pocketable”, and now we carry these behemoth phones around all the time. So funny that the iPhone changed so much.

I just acquired a new MacBook Pro (more on that later), and am considering my options for an external monitor. The linked article and chart is the best description of the usability of different resolutions by monitor size (PPI) I’ve seen. I’m currently waffling between the obvious choice—the LG 5K monitor at retina resolution—and the LG 34UC99 which runs 110 PPI, but at an amazing 37.5″. So it’s down to real estate vs. Retina.
If you’re considering an external display for your Mac, there’s a few important decisions to make. Apple doesn’t sell external displays any more, so you can’t just default to their wisdom. That’s an issue, because not all displays are well suited for Macs.
